If you are interested, please print, complete and return the interest survey so that preparations can begin over the summer. NOTE- THE INTEREST SURVEY IS NOT A REGISTRATION FORM.

Registration will begin the week we return to school on a first-come, first-served basis.

If interested, please return the bottom portion of the interest survey to Mr. Weiskind before school ends.

  • 3rd Grade Young Author’s Template

Every year each student is given the opportunity to “publish” a book. Students write their own creative story, type it into a template, cut and paste the story into a blank book, and then illustrate their book. All parents are invited to a grade-wide Young Authors Tea to celebrate their child’s accomplishment. The Young Authors tradition has given students not only a useful lesson in creative writing and project completion, but also a keepsake of their literary development at CES.

The 3rd grade 2017 template is available for download via the links below.

  • Pennies for Patients

Our Pennies for Patients campaign is starting on March 27 and will run for 2 weeks.

We have joined together with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to help with their Student Series campaign to raise funds for blood cancer research.

During the week of March 27th, students will take home a collection box. Fill it with spare change from your house, car and office. Also, ask your friends and neighbors to see if they have any coins laying around. Bring in your collection box, and give it to your teacher.

If you would rather, you can go online and make a cash donation. Prizes will be given to those students who choose to donate on line.

Thanks to schools like US and donors like YOU, there are more children and adults surviving every day.

  • A Trip Around the World

It is a night of music, performances, and interactive country exhibits. Kids will learn about different countries and sample foods from around the world!

A family or a group of families can host a country. Each country needs a lead parent as a point of contact. As a host, you can display art, crafts, traditional clothing, and other things that represent your country’s traditions. You can do slide shows or play music if you are getting a separate room. Kids love food samples (a bit size is good enough). We welcome you to bring sample foods to share with others as long as you label the ingredients clearly in case of any dietary constraints or allergies

At the end of the evening, we do an hour-long cultural program. Families (kids and parents) can perform a dance that is customarily performed in your country.

Currently, following countries have replied. To make the night full of fun, and allow kids to have chance to explore diversity of cultures, we need your help to host a country.

    • China
    • Israel
    • United States
    • Korea
    • Nigeria
    • India/ Pakistan
    • Colombia
    • Gullah ( a United States Sub Culture)

Let the PTA know if you are interested in hosting
