Up, Up and Away: Building your own Rockets!

Do you want to learn what makes a rocket soar into the sky? Do you want to design your own rockets propelled in different ways? Grab your space helmet and get ready to learn about rocketry. Students in this class will experiment with different methods of propulsion to learn about how to make a rocket fly. They will get to create their own basic rockets and watch them soar into the sky. Get ready to blast off!
Note: Students will need to provide 2 empty and clean 2-liter soda bottles.

Math World – Out of the Box

Do you love brain-teasers? Do you enjoy math challenges? Are you an “out-of-the-box” thinker who is motivated? If you love math, building, math games, & contests, make sure to sign up for the Math World enrichment program, an opportunity to learn creative problem solving in mathematics with your peers. We will focus on flexibility in problem-solving, intuition, and strategies for approaching math challenges. This class will foster effective approaches to creative problem-solving based on the teachings of George Lenchner. Taking the fall portion of this class is not a prerequisite to this version. This version is open to GRADE 3 as well.
