All students will spend 30 minutes outside, at the event, with a ten minute walk to the field and back, and ten minutes of the run/walk. Then they will return to their classrooms.
Be sure that your child dresses appropriately for the activity and the weather on the day of the run. In the event of inclement weather, a decision will be made by 8 a.m. and the Rain-date Turkey Trot will be held on Tuesday, November 21st.
Although this is not a spectator event, parent volunteers are needed from 9:15 am until 2:30 pm to make the event a success Volunteers are needed to hand out wristbands to the children as they complete each of their laps, record and collect wristbands after the run, and pass out tokens, and of course offer encouragement along the way. Volunteers will need to also complete the HCPSS volunteer online training course Certificate of completion can be sent to VP Cherilyn_Brown@hcpss.org.
